Polar Field Services is seeking a steady, capable leader to serve as a Summit Site Supervisor in a remote Arctic environment. This role is responsible for leading day-to-day station operations, supporting scientific missions, and maintaining a safe, effective, and collaborative team environment in one of the most austere places on Earth.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily station operations, including logistics coordination, task prioritization, and real-time problem solving.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact, maintaining clear communication with off-site leadership and visiting researchers.
- Oversee station safety, basic facilities and maintenance coordination, resource management, and emergency preparedness.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and inventory tracking to support operational continuity and transparency.
- Foster a positive, respectful team dynamic in a small, remote, shared living and working environment.
Qualifications
- 5 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong skills in logistics coordination, conflict resolution, and independent decision-making.
- Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions, lift up to 50 lbs, and use required PPE (including respirators).
Preferred
- Experience in remote, isolated, or field-based operations.
- Prior polar or high-latitude experience; Summit Station experience is a plus.
Deployment Details
- Remote Arctic assignment requiring international travel and aircraft-supported field deployment.
- Pre-deployment training may be required in Denver, CO.
- Schedule typically consists of extended workdays and a 6-day workweek, varying based on operational needs.
