Polar Field Services (PFS) is seeking a hands-on Deployment Engineer to support the TaaraConnect program, an innovative wireless communications network delivering high-speed connectivity through Free Space Optical Communications (FSOC) technology.

This role is ideal for an experienced telecommunications, networking, or field engineering professional who enjoys a combination of technical problem solving, deployment work, international travel, and working with cutting-edge technology.

What You'll Do

• Conduct site surveys and assess deployment readiness.
• Install, integrate, align, and commission wireless communication systems.
• Perform optical and RF alignment, testing, troubleshooting, and network turn-up activities.
• Coordinate and manage deployment logistics for domestic and international installations.
• Train and oversee local contractors during deployment projects.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and customer teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Develop and improve deployment procedures, documentation, and best practices.
• Support network operations and incident response activities as needed.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

✔ Associate degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field

✔ 5 years of telecommunications, networking, or field engineering experience

✔ Experience installing and troubleshooting wireless, RF, or communications systems

✔ Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills

✔ Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills

✔ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

✔ Valid U.S. driver's license and passport

✔ Ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the year

Preferred Qualifications

➕ Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline

➕ Network , CCNA, or similar certifications

➕ Linux, Unix, or Windows administration experience

➕ Experience with telecommunications deployments, manufacturing support, or process development
