Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of deli foods including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches, salads, and other fresh offerings with precision and care.
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions about products, and offering suggestions through effective upselling techniques.
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process transactions accurately while handling cash, credit cards, and food orders efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by regularly cleaning work surfaces, utensils, display cases, and adhering to food safety regulations.
• Restock deli items promptly to ensure product availability throughout the shift while managing inventory levels.
• Assist with food handling procedures including proper storage, labeling, and rotation to ensure freshness and compliance with health standards.
• Support food preparation tasks in the kitchen or café area as needed to meet customer demand during busy periods.
• Buss tables or clean dining areas when necessary to uphold a tidy environment for customers.
• Manage time effectively during peak hours to serve customers quickly without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations in a quick service or fast-food restaurant setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, deli operations, or retail environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
• Familiarity with food preparation techniques and food handling safety practices.
• Experience using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
• Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, and inventory management.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety regulations applicable in the food industry.
• Kitchen or café experience is a plus; familiarity with grocery store operations can also be beneficial.

Pay: $ $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 38 per week
