Pointe Cabinets & Design is seeking a highly organized, detail-driven Design Assistant to support our design team. This role is essential to the accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism of our process — from initial design development through ordering, installation, and close-out.

The Design Assistant works closely with the Principal Designer, Project Managers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure drawings, specifications, schedules, and orders are complete, coordinated, and aligned with Pointe’s standards.

This position is ideal for someone who is process-oriented, design-savvy, and eager to grow within a boutique, luxury residential design and construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Documentation Support

  • Support the Principal Designer with:
  • Cabinet layouts and elevations
  • Appliance, plumbing, and hardware schedules
  • Finish selections and specifications
  • Draft, revise, and maintain design drawings using 2020 Design and Chief Architect
  • Ensure drawings meet Pointe’s internal standards prior to client or trade review
  • Organize and manage design revisions in accordance with Pointe’s process standards

Ordering & Vendor Coordination

  • Prepare cabinet, millwork, and material orders for review and approval
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers to:
  • Confirm specifications, pricing, and lead times
  • Track orders, deliveries, and backorders
  • Maintain accurate records of:
  • Order acknowledgements
  • Revisions and changes
  • Vendor confirmations

Project & Process Coordination

  • Support projects through all phases:
  • Design stage
  • Site measurements
  • Trade walks
  • Ordering and scheduling
  • Installation and close-out
  • Upload and organize project documentation in Buildertrend and internal systems
  • Assist with change orders, revisions, and documentation tracking
  • Help ensure all selections and specifications are finalized prior to ordering

Client & Team Support

  • Attend internal design meetings and take detailed notes
  • Assist with preparing materials for client presentations when needed
  • Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and trades as directed
  • Act as a dependable support role to keep projects moving smoothly and accurately

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency or working knowledge of:
  • Chief Architect and/or 2020 Design knowledge or similar CAD/design software
  • Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, Teams
  • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
  • Comfortable following established systems, checklists, and SOPs
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in interior design, architecture, construction, or related field
  • Experience in high-end residential design, cabinetry, or remodeling
  • Familiarity with:
  • Buildertrend or similar project management platforms
  • Cabinetry, millwork, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and finishes
  • Degree or coursework in Interior Design or a related discipline (preferred, not required)
