Join our vibrant summer camp team as a Waterski Instructor, where you will inspire and guide young adventurers in mastering the exciting sport of waterskiing. Responsibilities
- Lead engaging waterskiing lessons tailored to different skill levels, from beginners to advanced skiers
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing water safety protocols and supervising all activities
- Demonstrate proper techniques for launching, balancing, turning, and stopping on waterskis
- Maintain equipment and ensure all waterski gear is in excellent condition and properly stored
- Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, confidence, and fun among campers
- Assist with other aquatic activities such as swimming or kayaking to diversify camper experiences
- Monitor weather conditions and communicate any changes or cancellations promptly to ensure safety
Skills
- Previous lifeguard experience with certification in water rescue and first aid
- Strong background in sports coaching, especially in watersports or physical education teaching
- Experience working with children or in childcare settings with excellent behavior management skills
- Knowledge of martial arts such as Karate or Judo is a plus for discipline and focus training
- Proficiency in swimming and comfort in open water environments
- Background in sports like basketball, cheerleading, climbing or health club activities enhances coaching versatility
- Ability to teach physical skills clearly while maintaining an energetic and motivating demeanor
