The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a highly organized and professional individual with experience in an office environment to coordinate low-voltage electrical projects and support the service department in our Vancouver office. This position can be fast paced, fun and rewarding as you work with experienced project managers and department heads from beginning to end on small and large projects.
What You’ll Do
This position is in the center of the action and you will enjoy being surrounded by a customer-oriented team of friendly high achievers who like to make things happen. The responsibilities in this position will vary, but much time is spent coordinating permits, purchasing, tracking shipments and meeting the needs of the field installers and customers. You will be trained.
· Problem solving and sourcing items for installers as necessary
· Coordinate deliveries and track shipments
· Receive shipped orders and place in designated project areas
· Track project and service billings
· Research equipment types to be purchased from vendors
· Support project manager and / or department head on various tasks.
· Support the service department by scheduling service, communicating with customers, and following service calls through billing.
· Answer phone calls and transfer to the appropriate party
· Review, create, and submit product submittal packages and O&M manuals
· Create and schedule service work orders
· Manage product returns
What You Bring
· Minimum 2 years' experience working in a professional office environment; experience in a construction or service company environment, purchasing, estimating, and/or reading/understanding construction plans is helpful. Experience working in the fire alarm and security industry a big plus.
· Able to manage multiple projects and priorities at a time and act quickly when a need arises and decisions need to be made
· Provide quality customer service with strong written & verbal communications
· Follow specific instructions precisely when necessary
· Extremely accurate data entry and strong attention to detail
· Consistent follow-through on delegated tasks
· Must be experienced with Microsoft Word and Excel. Bluebeam and Microsoft Access a plus but are not required.
· Ability to lift 40-pound items on a regular basis is required; forklift experience a plus, not required.
