Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore their artistic talents and foster a love for art.
Dates: July 13-31, 2026
Hours: Weekdays 8:30AM-12:30PM
Where: Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church

Who: Grades 6-8
Class size: 10 - 20 students
Class time: One hour per day (10:45-11:45AM)
MORNING ARTS THEME: Time of the Season
Salary: $1,800 - $2,200 total for all 3 weeks, includes one late night on July 31, set up prior to camp, and tear down after
Art Teacher
- Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with our theme/theater production
- Teach art projects across a variety of mediums to a class of 10-20 students
- Include instruction on age-appropriate professional art techniques
- Encourage creativity and self-expression through art projects
- Order necessary art project supplies
- Supervise and coordinate with TAs
- Assist with greeting parents every morning from 8:45AM-9AM
- Attend music class from 9-9:30AM to become familiar with song selections
- Play the same music selections in classroom, if possible
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and guidelines
- Help supervise snack/assist with child care if needed/flexibility with role
- Attend staff meeting each Friday from noon-12:30pm
- Help prepare Final Night art show on July 31st, 2026 (all day)
- Attend final night music production on July 31st, 2026, 5-8pm
- Attend set-up (July 10 & 11)
- Attend tear-down (August 1st)

Ability to commute/relocate:
- San Diego, CA 92107: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Experience:
- Teaching Art: 3 years (Preferred)

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or related field
- Previous experience teaching art to students of varying ages
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey artistic concepts
- Knowledge of different art styles, techniques, and art history
- Ability to engage and motivate students in the learning process
Pay: $1,800.00 - $2,200.00 per month
