Position Overview
The Marine Service Writer acts as the key link between customers and our service department. You’ll manage service requests, prepare accurate estimates, and ensure smooth communication throughout the repair process. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers needing boat repair, maintenance, or marine equipment service.
- Create detailed work orders and service estimates based on customer concerns and technician recommendations.
- Schedule service appointments and coordinate workflow between customers and marine technicians.
- Communicate repair status, timelines, and costs clearly and professionally.
- Process warranty claims and handle vendor communications.
- Maintain accurate records of service history, parts orders, and billing using service management software.
- Ensure compliance with marine industry standards and company policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience as a marine service writer, automotive service advisor, or similar role preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with boats, marine engines, and related systems is a strong plus.
- Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Technical: Proficiency with computers and service management software.
