Position Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance team at a busy food and beverage manufacturing facility. This role oversees all day-to-day maintenance activities, equipment repairs, facility upkeep, preventive maintenance scheduling, and safety. The ideal candidate is an organized leader who can motivate a team, solve mechanical issues quickly, and keep the plant running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians
- Plan daily and weekly maintenance schedules
- Inspect equipment and facilities to identify repair needs
- Oversee routine repairs, installations, and troubleshooting
- Keep accurate records of maintenance work and equipment status
- Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts
- Coordinate with production on downtime and repair priorities
- Support safety programs and ensure safe work practices
- Work with contractors and service providers when needed
- Keep maintenance areas clean, organized, and stocked
- Respond to maintenance issues quickly to minimize downtime
- Help train and develop maintenance team members
- Monitor department spending and assist with budgeting
Managerial Responsibilities
- Hire, train, schedule, and coach maintenance employees
- Set expectations, review performance, and help build a strong team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus
- Previous maintenance leadership experience required
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Experience with plant equipment, utilities, and facility systems
- Ability to read basic technical documentation
- Strong communication, teamwork, and planning skills
- Comfortable working in a food/beverage production environment
