Plymouth State University seeks a dynamic, motivated, and student-centered individual to serve as the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach. This part-time position is responsible for leading all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III swimming and diving program, with a strong emphasis on student-athlete development, academic success, and sportsmanship.

This part-time position is responsible for leading all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III swimming and diving program, with a strong emphasis on student-athlete development, academic success, and sportsmanship.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct all phases of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs
- Develop and implement effective training programs, practice plans, and competition strategies
- Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes who align with the university’s academic and athletic standards
- Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and personal growth
- Monitor academic progress and support student-athlete success in the classroom
- Manage program budgets and equipment
- Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, conference, and university rules and regulations
- Coordinate team travel, meet logistics, and administrative duties
- Supervise and mentor assistant coaches and support staff
- Engage in community outreach and alumni relations to support program growth
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous collegiate coaching experience, preferably at the NCAA level
- Strong knowledge of swimming and diving techniques, training methods, and competition rules
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop student-athletes
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Commitment to the philosophy and mission of NCAA Division III athletics, emphasizing the balance of academics and athletics
- Experience coaching both swimming and diving or working collaboratively with a diving coach
- Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with program management, budgeting, and compliance
