Plymouth State is seeking a motivated, energetic, and team-oriented Assistant Baseball Coach to support all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III baseball program. Plymouth State is seeking a motivated, energetic, and team-oriented Assistant Baseball Coach to support all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III baseball program. This position plays a key role in player development, recruiting, practice planning, and fostering a positive student-athlete experience aligned with the institution’s academic mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with daily operations of the baseball program
- Plan and conduct practices, skill development sessions, and game preparation
- Provide individualized instruction to student-athletes (hitting, pitching, fielding, etc.)
- Support recruiting efforts, including identifying, evaluating, and communicating with prospective student-athletes in accordance with NCAA Division III rules
- Assist with game-day responsibilities, including scouting reports, opponent analysis, and in-game coaching
- Promote academic success, leadership development, and personal growth of student-athletes
- Help coordinate team travel, equipment management, and program logistics
- Monitor and ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional policies
- Engage in alumni relations and program fundraising efforts, as appropriate
- Previous coaching and/or competitive playing experience at the collegiate or higher level
- Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and player development strategies
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Commitment to the philosophy and mission of Division III athletics, emphasizing academics and student-athlete well-being
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
