The Designer position is part of PSU’s Designing Forward Davis Foundation grant, a university initiative supporting faculty and staff in advancing innovative instructional design practices. Fellows provide support and leadership for Designing Forward grant activities, which may include serving as teaching assistants for the summer curriculum, collaborating with the CoLab to assess grant outcomes, and/or working to revise, improve, and expand the Designing Forward curriculum. Fellows may also propose other support or leadership roles in service of the grant, in consultation with the CoLab team. This is a temporary, grant-funded adjunct staff position.

$50 /hour

If, for any reason, the sponsor funding is reduced or discontinued, employment may be subject to modification or termination in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities
Fellowship Planning (25%)
- Attend initial planning meetings, as required
- Collaborate with the CoLab to determine the scope of fellowship activities for the year.
- Carry out agreed-upon fellowship activities between June 2026 and May 2027, which may include serving as a teaching assistant for the summer curriculum, collaborating on grant assessment, revising or expanding the Designing Forward curriculum, or other support/leadership roles.
- Fulfill the scope of fellowship responsibilities as defined collaboratively with the CoLab.
- Check in with the CoLab at agreed-upon deadlines to provide updates on fellowship activities.
- Attend a University Days session in mid-August.
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Completion of the Participant role (summer Design Forward curriculum) of the Designing Forward grant
- Current adjunct faculty or staff status at Plymouth State University.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a small team (CoLab) to define and carry out a set of responsibilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to support grant activities and meet check-in deadlines.
- Interest in supporting peer learning, curriculum development, or program assessment.
- Ability to adapt fellowship activities to grant needs as they evolve over the course of the year.
- Experience with or interest in curriculum design, teaching assistance, or program evaluation.
