Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based at Plymouth Social – The 508 Bar in Plymouth, MA, hiring for Servers, Bussers, Food Runners, and Bartenders. Team members will greet guests, take orders, deliver food and beverages, and ensure tables and service areas remain clean and organized. Servers and Bartenders will accurately enter orders, manage tabs, handle payments, and recommend menu items, while maintaining responsible alcohol service. Bussers and Food Runners will support the front-of-house team by clearing and resetting tables, running food, replenishing supplies, and assisting with general dining room upkeep. All roles work closely with the kitchen and bar staff to maintain a smooth flow of service, uphold health and safety standards, and contribute to a friendly, welcoming environment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in restaurant, bar, or hospitality roles such as serving, bartending, bussing, or food running is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a friendly, professional demeanor with guests and coworkers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and stay organized during peak service times.
- Reliable time management, willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and consistent attendance.
- Basic math skills and comfort handling cash, credit card transactions, and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices (for bartending and serving roles); relevant certifications such as TIPS or ServSafe are a plus.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, carry trays or glassware, and move safely through crowded spaces.
- Team-oriented mindset, openness to feedback, and commitment to maintaining cleanliness, safety, and hospitality standards.
