Plymouth Pediatric Associates (PPA) is seeking a Per Diem Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our practice in beautiful Plymouth, Massachusetts. Essential functions
· Provides health maintenance including well child exams, developmental screening, education, and counseling to patients from birth through young adulthood.
· Works closely with parents/guardian of patients in the practice to inform, support and educate about their child's health and illnesses.
· Provides diagnosis and treatment to common childhood illnesses.
· Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate lab and diagnostic tests to assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs and communicates that information to patients and families accurately and promptly.
· Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
· Records pertinent patient care findings in the electronic medical record.
· Maintains interdisciplinary approach to planning and communicating patient care information by discussing patient data with appropriate physicians and other health care professionals.
· Incorporates the concepts of health maintenance, prevention of disease and injury, and health promotion into daily practice through patient education and counseling.
· Works closely with nursing and medical assistant staff to provide quality patient care.
· Maintains a safe environment.
Demonstrates awareness of community resources and assists staff, patients, and families to effectively utilize them.
Required qualifications
· Master's degree in Nursing or Master’s degree in PA studies
· American Nurses Association (ANA) certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitioner or NCCPA Certification.
· Current Mass Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license or PA License
· Current Mass controlled substance and DEA licensure
· Current CPR BLS certification
· Demonstrated competency and experience delivering primary and/or specialty care to
children in underserved populations
Experience: Minimum of two years of Pediatric urgent care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience. Weekdays, weekends and some holidays as needed.
