What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Plymouth Industries, Inc.?
We are looking for a Mechanical Drafter to work with our team of Engineers and Project Manager to convert designs into technical plans. Drafter responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and detailing prints to be used in production.
To be successful in this position, you should have experience using CAD software and strong project management skills.

Job Duties:
- Work with engineers and project managers to gather product requirements
- Add dimensions and critical information for the manufacturing process
- Detail designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Review drawings with the engineering team
- Identify potential operational issues
- Aid in implementing redesigns to improve functionality if necessary
- Comply with industry safety and quality standards
- Create and maintain documentation including Bill of Materials (BOM), part drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, and help specify purchase components.
- Document project estimates, scope, and budget
- Project management assistance when required
Requirements:
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS CAD platform
- Proven work experience as a Drafter/Detailer or similar role
- Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
- Good math skills
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with others
Education:
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Drafting 2-Year Degree or equivalent on-the-job experience
Experience:
- 1 years of relevant work experience a plus
- Project management experience a plus
