Requirements
Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of residential plumbing systems, including water supply lines, drainage systems, venting, and gas piping
- Proficient in diagnosing leaks, clogs, low water pressure, fixture failures, and equipment malfunctions
- Skilled in repairing and installing faucets, toilets, sinks, water heaters, garbage disposals, and other plumbing fixtures
- Ability to interpret blueprints, building plans, and technical diagrams
- Knowledge of local, state, and national plumbing codes, along with strong adherence to safety standards
- Comfortable using plumbing tools such as augers, drain snakes, inspection cameras, soldering torches, and pipe-threading equipment
- Prior experience as a residential service plumber (2 years preferred) with a track record of performing accurate repairs and successful installations
- Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving plumbing issues independently
- Background working directly with homeowners or clients, providing professional communication and customer service
- Proven ability to complete service tickets, estimate materials, and manage time across multiple jobs per day
- Experience working in crawl spaces, attics, tight areas, and varying residential environments
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the patience and skill to identify root causes and implement lasting solutions
- Detail-oriented approach to repairs, ensuring accuracy in leak detection, fixture placement, sealing, and system testing
- Self-motivated and dependable, capable of working independently without constant supervision
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain repairs, present options, and ensure customer understanding
- Physically able to perform demanding tasks including lifting 50 lbs., climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and working in varied weather conditions
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality workmanship
- Safety-focused mindset with consistent use of PPE and proper procedures
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background and drug screening (if required by company policy)
- Willingness to participate in occasional on-call rotations, if applicable
- Familiarity with mobile dispatch systems, service apps, or digital ticketing tools (preferred but not required)
