The Company
Plumbing Solutions is a residential new construction plumbing contractor operating four branches across South Carolina and Georgia. We build homes for the region's largest builders, and we are scaling from a founder-run company into a professionally managed one. We are direct, we hold standards, and we measure what we say matters.
The Opportunity
This is not a maintenance seat. We are building the People Operations function, and the person in this role will own it end to end and build it to a standard that scales across branches and additional entities.
You will be the single point of accountability for everything people related: recruiting, compliance, employee relations, benefits, policy, and retention. You will have a coordinator reporting to you handling execution and records, and you will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

What You Will Own
• The entire People Operations function as the single accountable owner.
• Recruiting results across a skilled trades workforce: source performance, time to fill, quality of hire, and 90-day retention.
• A recruiting funnel you tune monthly. You will own the numbers at every stage and make a measured change every cycle.
• Compliance across EEOC, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, I-9, E-Verify, and workers' compensation.
• Employee relations, investigations, disciplinary process, and manager coaching.
• Benefits, leave, compensation administration within published thresholds, and the policy library.
• Retention: turnover analysis, stay and exit interviews, and the frameworks that keep good people.
• Building and documenting scalable systems and SOPs that outlast any one person.
• Direct leadership of the People Operations Coordinator.
What We Are Looking For
• Experience running a full HR function, not a specialty inside a large department. You have been the person who owns it.
• A track record of building or restructuring, not only maintaining. Tell us what you stood up and what it produced.
• Real compliance depth. You have handled investigations, claims, and audits, and you sleep fine.
• Recruiting judgment in a hard labor market, ideally trades, construction, manufacturing, or another skilled workforce.
• Comfort with numbers. You can look at a funnel, find the leak, and fix it.
• Direct communication. You bring problems forward early with options and a recommendation.
• HRIS and ATS fluency, and the discipline to keep systems clean.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred.
