Job Summary
Hours: 11:30a-7:30p or 4:30p-7:30p
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Prep Cook (Cook) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food safety practices. As a Prep Cook (Cook) , you will play a crucial role in the kitchen by assisting with food preparation, ensuring that all ingredients are ready for cooking, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations to ensure the health and safety of all residents.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other culinary tools.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to support daily operations
- Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management when stock is low.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food industry setting is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, teamwork mentality, and willingness to learn are essential qualities for success in this role.
- Experience in dietary departments or catering services is a plus but not mandatory.
