Duties
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for various dishes, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines while preparing meals.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Utilize kitchen equipment safely and effectively, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Participate in maintaining inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages.
Experience
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques, including knife skills, is advantageous.
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal preparation processes is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
