Manager of Administrative Support
Location: New York, NY
Work Schedule: Hybrid | 4 days onsite
Compensation: $150,000 - $195,000 discretionary bonus

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a seasoned law firm operations professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to build, mentor, and optimize high-performing administrative support teams.
This individual will oversee a team of Legal Executive Assistants and play a critical role in ensuring exceptional day-to-day administrative support for attorneys and business professionals. The position requires a visible, hands-on leader who can drive workflow efficiency, support talent development, improve team performance, and help implement strategic initiatives tied to administrative operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the administrative support function, including workflow management, coverage coordination, scheduling, and overtime oversight
- Lead, develop, and retain a team of administrative professionals to ensure high-level support across the office
- Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-ones, performance reviews, coaching, and compensation recommendations
- Partner closely with attorneys, staff, and leadership to ensure support needs are met effectively and efficiently
- Assist with attorney onboarding, departures, and transitions, including file transfer coordination and continuity of support
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements related to people, workflow, and technology
- Collaborate on departmental projects, strategic initiatives, and programs designed to elevate the administrative support model
- Address employee relations matters in partnership with senior leadership and HR where appropriate
- Maintain a strong in-office presence to monitor team productivity, troubleshoot challenges, and strengthen overall support effectiveness
Ideal Background:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 years of supervisory or management experience within a mid-to-large law firm or professional services environment
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to coach, mentor, and elevate administrative talent
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively under tight deadlines
- High level of professionalism, discretion, judgment, and emotional intelligence
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong overall technical aptitude
