Position Overview

Hills Distribution, a leading organization with over $300 million in annual sales, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Technology to lead our technology department. The VP of Technology will oversee a team of IT professionals and drive innovative solutions that support and accelerate business growth. This executive role requires a visionary leader who can align technology initiatives with business objectives, optimize operational efficiency, and ensure robust IT infrastructure and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports Hills Distribution’s business goals and ongoing growth.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Oversee all aspects of IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and vendor management.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and department heads to identify technology needs, recommend solutions, and prioritize projects.
• Manage the department budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost optimization.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining high levels of data security and privacy.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance business processes, improve customer experience, and maintain competitive advantage.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Report on technology performance, risks, and opportunities to the executive team and board of directors.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
• 10 years of progressive experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of managing teams and delivering business value through technology.
• Experience in distribution, logistics, or related industries is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, application development, cybersecurity, and digital transformation.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to align technology strategy with business objectives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Proven experience managing budgets and vendor relationships.
