About this Position Responsibilities & Qualifications The 2nd Pressman plays a key role in supporting the efficient and high-quality operation of Primerica’s printing press team. This position is responsible for loading paper, assisting with press make-ready activities, performing routine maintenance tasks, and supporting the 1st Pressman throughout the production process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and committed to maintaining high production and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Load sheet or roll paper into the press according to job specifications. Assist with make-ready processes, including cleaning ink fountains, changing plates, and performing other press preparation tasks. Support the 1st Pressman during all stages of press setup, make-ready, and production. Set up print jobs following job jacket specifications (paper, ink, coatings, etc.). Ensure all printing supplies (plates, paper, ink, coating, etc.) are available for upcoming jobs. Adjust feeder settings to ensure proper paper flow into the press. Inspect paper for damage before loading it into the machine. Perform quality checks by inspecting color, register, and overall output to confirm quality standards are met. Verify layout accuracy by ruling out sheets and checking pagination. Continue daily learning and on-the-job training to develop skills and eventually perform select 1st Pressman duties in preparation for future advancement.
