Senior Engineering Technician

Pliant Energy System Inc is a pioneering engineering company in the Brooklyn Navy Yard developing advanced marine propulsion, robotics, and energy harvesting technologies. We are looking for an experienced technician to join our small team of scientists and engineers to play a vital role in building, maintaining, and perfecting our unique systems.

Position:          Full time, on-site.

Salary:             $110 – 160k depending on experience

Responsibilities

·      Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electromechanical systems

·      Source, inspect, and validate components

·      Perform low voltage wiring and basic electronics tasks

·      Test and troubleshoot prototypes in lab and field — including water environments

·      Keep the workshop running efficiently

·      Support the productivity of other team members

Essential Qualifications and Skills

·      Substantial fabrication and assembly experience

·      Technical troubleshooting and diagnostics experience

·      Ability to read, interpret and contribute to engineering drawings, schematics, and procedures

·      Familiarity with precision measurement tools and inspection methods

·      Communication and teamwork skills
