Shipping Supervisor:
Job Summary: The Supervisor will be responsible for managing and coordinating the daily operations of the Shipping Department in their assigned building. This includes managing the shipping personnel to pull orders, oversee booking of loads on all current carrier portals, ensuring efficient internal and external customer service, and overseeing all shipping processes. The Shipping Supervisor will be a key leader in developing and implementing strategies and plans to improve department efficiency and customer service.

- Oversee and coordinate all shipping operations in assigned building.
- Works cross functionally with upstream departments to coordinate shipment timing
- Work closely with carriers and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Develop and implement strategies for improving efficiency, customer service, and cost savings.
- Manage the shipping staff and coordinate scheduling the workloads.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and adjust ordering and storage accordingly.
- Track order fulfillment and investigate/resolve discrepancies.
- Root cause any errors and apply corrective action.
- Create process improvement initiatives to streamline shipping process
- Learn and enforce customer standards for shipping compliance
- Work with internal stakeholders to quote or scope future work
- Ensure proactive approach to booking and preparation of customer shipments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
- At least 5 years of prior experience in a supervisory role preferably in Logistics or a related field
- Knowledge of shipping and distribution processes and procedures with experience in both domestic and international shipping
- Experience with international shipping regulations a plus
- Experience in shipping using multiple transit types (LTL, FTL, Air, Ocean)
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.
