What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floor Technician- (Full-Time, Mon-Fri) position at PLEASANT VIEW HOME?
Essential Functions (with or without reasonable accommodation):
The following job functions have been determined as essential to the position of Floor Technician at Pleasant View Home.
- Receive and follow schedule/instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in our established policies and procedures.
- Stripping, Waxing and buffing floors.
- Shampooing of carpets, upholstery etc.
- Assist with putting away supplies.
- Follow all established safety procedures and precautions when performing floor service.
- Report all incidents/accidents, no matter how minor, to your supervisor immediately. (NOTE: Such occurrences must be reported on the shift in which they occur.)
- Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your supervisor immediately.
- Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of workday, etc.
- Keep your work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., grease/oil spills, excess supplies, equipment, etc., to ensure that all established safety rules/regulations are always followed.
- Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
- Dispose of refuse daily in accordance with our established sanitation procedures.
- Use protective clothing/devices when performing tasks that involve the handling of infectious waste and/or blood/body fluids.
- Report equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to your supervisor as soon as possible.
- Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
- Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
- Other related duties may become necessary or as directed by your supervisor, department director, and/or administrator.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., as directed.
- Other related duties and activities may become necessary or as directed by the Administrator.
Education:
Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
None required. On-the-job training will be provided.
Physical, Emotional and Interpersonal Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Clearly read, speak and write the English language
- See, hear or use prosthetic devices to enable use of the senses adequately.
- Sit, stand, bend, stoop, and move for extended periods of time.
- Use hands and fingers to operate equipment.
- Lift, move, push or pull a minimum of 50 pounds
- Be licensed in accordance with current state applicable standards, if any, codes, labor laws, etc.
- Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors and the public.
- Work harmoniously with other department personnel and supervise non-professional personnel.
- Have the ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
