The Pleasant Grove City Fire Department is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Part-Time Fire Inspector to support our Fire Prevention Bureau. This role involves conducting inspections, enforcing fire codes, and assisting with public safety initiatives to ensure a fire-safe environment for our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Fire Code Enforcement: Conduct inspections of commercial and residential properties to ensure compliance with the International Fire Code, local ordinances, and safety standards.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection reports, noting violations, corrective actions, and follow-up requirements.
- Public Education: Assist in delivering fire safety education programs to residents, schools, and businesses.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Fire Prevention Bureau and other city departments to address fire safety concerns and improve community awareness.
- Special Projects: Participate in special fire prevention projects and initiatives as assigned by the Fire Marshal.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED; additional coursework in fire science or related fields is desirable.
- Experience: Prior experience in fire inspection, firefighting, or a related field is preferred.
- Certifications: Possession of or the ability to obtain Fire Inspector certification from the State of Utah
- Licensure: Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform inspections in various environmental conditions, including walking, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
