Duties And Responsibilities
- Support the execution of the business intelligence strategy for the playAWARDS division, ensuring alignment with team and company objectives.
- Serve as a player-coach by directly producing analyses, dashboards, reporting, and insights while managing and mentoring one BI analyst.
- Lead the development, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards, recurring reporting, and ad hoc analyses related to player behavior, loyalty engagement, reward and partner performance, loyalty economy, and overall business health.
- Partner with rewards, marketing, player development, game teams, and operations stakeholders to understand business needs, prioritize analytical work, and deliver actionable insights.
- Define, standardize, and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), reporting logic, and data definitions to ensure consistency across playAWARDS.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and reliability across reporting and analysis, acting as a key steward of data quality for the playAWARDS team.
- Translate complex business questions into clear analytical approaches, actionable insights, and strategic recommendations to present to stakeholders and leadership.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to player engagement, retention, monetization, loyalty participation, and reward redemption behavior.
- Support the design, execution, and readout of A/B tests and other experiments to evaluate the impact of loyalty features, promotions, messaging, and product changes.
- Collaborate with data engineering and other technical teams to improve data availability, reporting automation, and overall BI scalability.
- Establish and maintain thorough documentation for BI processes, dashboards, metric definitions, and BI best practices.
- Allocate BI team resources effectively to ensure the successful execution of BI initiatives, while setting clear performance goals, providing constructive feedback, and supporting the professional growth of team members
- Manage project timelines and ensure the BI team meets deadlines, delivering high-quality insights that drive business decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data science, economics, statistics, analytics, or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in business intelligence, data science, analytics, or a related field.
- Prior people management experience, with the ability to coach, develop, and provide direction to analysts.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Sisense).
- Proven experience building dashboards, creating reporting frameworks, and performing detailed analyses that influence business decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and move fluidly between strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
- Deep understanding of experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and performance measurement methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present data clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- Prior experience in either social gaming, loyalty, mobile gaming, casino/hospitality, or related experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience analyzing player behavior, engagement, retention, monetization, or loyalty program performance is preferred.
