Playful Pups Retreat in Elizabethtown, PA is seeking a Seasonal Housekeeper / Cleaner to help maintain the cleanliness, safety, and high standards of our premium dog boarding and lodging facility. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys cleaning, takes pride in doing things the right way, and thrives in a structured, task-focused environment.

Our busy season runs from around Memorial Day through a little after Columbus Day, and we are open to hiring full-time or part-time seasonal team members during this time. For the right candidate, this role may have the opportunity to transition into a permanent, year-round position.

YOUR IMPACT AS A HOUSEKEEPER – DOG BOARDING FACILITY

As a Housekeeper / Cleaner for our dog lodging facility, you play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall safety of our building while our Lodging Team focuses on caring for the dogs.

You will work independently for much of your shift and help keep our facility spotless by assisting with:

• Laundry and dishes

• Cleaning floors, bathrooms, drains, vents, and walls

• Cleaning dog rooms and accommodations

• Sanitizing dog toys, beds, and accessories

• Cleaning outdoor yards and facility areas

• Maintaining a clean and organized environment throughout the building

This role requires someone who is extremely thorough, detail-oriented, and efficient. Attention to detail is crucial so nothing gets missed.

You should be comfortable:

• Working on ladders for high dusting or cleaning

• Bending, kneeling, and reaching into tight spaces

• Staying productive and focused while working independently

• Working in a busy environment with dogs, noise, and team activity around you

Exceptional cleaning directly impacts the health, safety, and comfort of the dogs in our care, and this role plays an incredibly important part in our daily operations.

SCHEDULE & AVAILABILITY

Our ideal candidate has flexible availability between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM to support facility needs during our busy season.

Possible scheduling options may include:

• 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM (split shifts for nearby candidates)

• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

• 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Ability to work every other weekend is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & SAFETY EXPECTATIONS

This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds. Team members must be able to perform repetitive physical tasks and maintain a steady, productive pace throughout their shift.

While this role does not involve direct dog handling, you must be comfortable working safely around dogs of all sizes in an active pet care environment.
