Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to support our lead teacher in fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will assist in , managing classroom activities, and promoting the overall development of students. This role is crucial in providing high-quality education and care to children, ensuring their academic and social growth. Hours are 9-6 M-F with weekends off. Must be 21 and have a valid Drivers License.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in planning daily after school activities.
- Support the educational needs of students through individualized instruction and guidance.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
- Implement behavior management strategies to maintain a conducive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to lead teachers regarding individual student needs.
- Assist with classroom management, ensuring safety and well-being of all students.
- Collaborate with other staff members to develop effective teaching strategies and curriculum enhancements.
- Engage in activities that promote literacy, math skills, and overall childhood development.
- Provide support for children with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum or with other disabilities.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
Skills
- Strong background in early childhood education and childhood development principles is a plus.
- Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management.
- Knowledge of literacy education, math concepts, and behavior management techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff members.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
- A nurturing attitude towards childcare and a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment.
