What are the responsibilities and job description for the ELL Teacher position at Plattsburgh City School District?
POSITION TITLE/BUILDING: Anticipated ELL Teacher/TBD/Grades 6-12
CERTIFICATION: NYS certification in ENL/ESL (or eligibility for certification) or World Language Teacher certification
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
· Skill in scaffolding grade-level content to make it accessible for multilingual learners
· Ability to integrate language development (listening, speaking, reading, writing) into content instruction
· Experience using data (e.g., NYSESLAT, formative assessments) to drive instruction and monitor progress
· Ability to effectively co-plan and co-teach with general education teachers
· Skilled in adapting curriculum and assessments to meet diverse language needs
· Strong communication skills to support staff understanding of language acquisition strategies
· Commitment to culturally responsive teaching practices
· Ability to build strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds
SALARY: Plattsburgh Teachers’ Association Contract
