POSITION TITLE/BUILDING: Anticipated Elementary Art Teacher/TBD
CERTIFICATION: NYS Certification in Art
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Preferred 1-3 years of Elementary Art Education
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE DESIRED/QUALIFICATIONS:
· A strong understanding of child development and visual arts pedagogy
· Ability to design and deliver standards-based, engaging art instruction using a variety of media
· Skill in integrating art across content areas and incorporating culturally responsive practices
· Demonstrated strength in classroom management within a hands-on, materials-rich environment, including clear routines and organization
· Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse learner needs
· Commitment to inclusive practices, professional growth, and fostering student creativity and voice
SPECIAL COURSE WORK:
- Understanding of NYS Frameworks in Art Education and NYS Learning Standards
- B.S. /B.A.
- Master’s Degree
SALARY: Plattsburgh Teachers’ Association Contract
