JOB SUMMARY: 

​​Responsible for evaluating current and historical financial health and creditworthiness of Ag and Commercial borrowers to minimize bank risk and help determine loan viability. Serve as the “middle ground” between Ag/Commercial lenders and bank committees, producing financial spreads and written analysis to help guide lending decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

​​ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. ​Dissect current and historical business/individual tax returns, balance sheets, and income statements to provide spreads and analysis to lender.
2. ​Generate financial ratios, using computer programs including Abrigo Sageworks, to evaluate borrower’s financial position.
3. ​Provide global cash flow analysis.
4. ​Evaluate borrower capacity and capital positions assigning a risk rating, when required, to help determine creditworthiness of borrower.
5. ​Compare financial information and ratios with those of similar businesses in the same industries and geographical locations.
6. ​Support Ag and Commercial lenders by providing financial spreads and/or analysis to be incorporated into the loan presentations/standard reports for decisioning.
7. ​Stay informed of industry trends and standards to help support financial information provided.
8. ​Confer with lender and other business representatives to obtain financial information.
9. ​Ensures compliance with applicable regulations and keeps up-to-date with changes in federal regulations and lending requirements.
10. ​Reviews irregular financial information with lenders.
11. ​Provide expertise to lenders regarding financial statements, tax returns and cash flows.
12. ​Attend and provide input as needed at all Senior Loan Committee Meetings.
13. Attend trainings and webinars to expand knowledge and expertise.
14. Occasional travel required.
15. ​All other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

1. ​​​​One to two years’ experience in banking with Ag/Commercial lending experience preferred. 
2. ​Zero to one year credit analysis experience preferred.
3. ​Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required.
4. ​Ability to communicate to large groups regarding the analysis process, it’s changes and expectations.
5. ​Proficient PC skills (using Microsoft Word, Excel and Abrigo). 
6. ​Good mathematical skills. 
7. ​Effective oral and written communication skills (including telephone). 
8. ​Self-sufficient/Self-starter. 
9. ​General areas of competency: decision making, dependability, development, evaluation skills, interpersonal skills, prioritizing, problem solving, team skills and time management. 
10. ​Must be capable of working with and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information.

Physical Requirements:

​​​Light Work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Reaching, fingering, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating and interacting with others.
