Shift lead (key holder)

Responsibilities

• Assist in opening and closing the store, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately
• Supervise team members during shifts, providing guidance on customer service, sales techniques, and operational tasks
• Manage cash handling, POS transactions, and daily bookkeeping to ensure accuracy and security
• Oversee inventory management including stocking, merchandising, pricing, and inventory control to meet sales targets
• Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new employees
• Maintain excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
• Coordinate with management on sales strategies, marketing initiatives, and store presentation to maximize revenue

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience in retail or grocery stores with strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Demonstrated proficiency in retail math, cash handling, POS systems, inventory management, and merchandising
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with employee orientation, training & development, and team management
• Knowledge of retail sales techniques including negotiation, pricing strategies, and sales management
• Ability to handle administrative tasks such as payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and record keeping confidently
