We are seeking a passionate and skilled Mexican Food Cook to join our dynamic culinary team! Duties
- Prepare contemporary Mexican dishes, including tacos, salsas, and more, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food preparation meets food safety and sanitizing procedures to maintain high hygiene standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching pots, braising pans, and knives safely and efficiently
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new recipes and seasonal specials that highlight authentic Mexican flavors
- Maintain high-volume food production while adhering to portion control and recipe adherence guidelines
- Support food handling practices that promote freshness, quality, and safety during meal preparation and service
- Collaborate with the Operation Manager, and Kitchen Manager to deliver excellent food service experiences in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in Mexican cuisine cooking or similar culinary experience in a restaurant or catering setting
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques including grilling, braising, poaching (culinary method), and food production processes
- Familiarity with food safety management and sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations
- Excellent knife skills and ability to operate various kitchen equipment efficiently
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and high-volume production environments
- Background in dietary aide or dietary department work is a plus but not required
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
