We are currently seeking a reliable, experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant to join our growing team.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of clinical experience and is confident in-patient handling, treatment assistance, and surgical support. This role also includes participating in a rotating on-call schedule, shared evenly among the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during exams, diagnostics, and surgical procedures
- Safely restrain patients and administer treatments as directed
- Perform basic lab tests (fecals, urinalysis, heartworm tests, etc.)
- Monitor anesthesia and surgical recovery
- Communicate clearly with clients about patient care and instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records in the practice management system
- Ensure clean, stocked, and safe treatment areas
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours needs
Qualifications:
Required:
- 2 years of veterinary assistant or technician experience
- Comfortable with restraint, treatments, and assisting in surgery
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work rotating on-call shifts
Preferred:
- Certification as a CVT/LVT/RVT, or relevant experience in the field
- Experience in anesthesia monitoring and dental procedures
- Fear-Free or low-stress handling knowledge
Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods
- Exposure to animals, bodily fluids, and cleaning agents
