The Manager, Development Operations, is responsible for managing the operational and administrative functions that support the SPE Foundation’s fundraising and scholarship programs. The position is responsible for maintaining accurate donor data, coordinating scholarship administration, supporting donor stewardship, and producing reports that track fundraising and program performance. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable managing data, coordinating processes with multiple stakeholders, and serving as a point of contact for donors, scholarship recipients, and volunteer reviewers.


Responsibilities:

Database Management & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate donor records, including contact information, giving history, and donor segmentation.
  • Record all incoming gifts, track pledge commitments, and monitor recurring donations.
  • Maintain spreadsheets and reports to track fundraising progress, scholarship disbursements, and program metrics.


Scholarship Program Administration

  • Manage the administration of the Foundation’s scholarship program, including application tracking, review coordination, and award processing.
  • Coordinate and support volunteer judges, provide guidance on the evaluation process, and ensure reviews are completed on schedule.
  • Serve as the primary contact for scholarship recipients and educational partners, providing guidance on documentation requirements and payment processes.


Donor Stewardship

  • Prepare and send donor acknowledgment letters and other stewardship communications.
  • Maintain a tracking system to ensure donor reporting, recognition, and follow-up activities are completed.

  • Develop technical reports and prepare donor communications, including acknowledgments and stewardship updates.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, communications, non-profit management, or related field.
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in office administration, communications, or non-profit development.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • An interest in workforce development, STEM education, or the plastics industry is a significant plus.
  • A proven ability to manage complex, multi-step projects like scholarship cycles and donor tracking.
  • Ability to handle and manage sensitive student and donor information with discretion.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail, problem-solving, organizational, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on various projects simultaneously, adjust to changing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver results.
  • Written and verbal communications skills with diverse stakeholder audiences.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collectively to build consensus.
  • Ability to provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • An earnest work ethic and dedication to collective success of the organization in service of our members, donors, grantees, and scholars.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to embody and uphold PLASTICS' core values of ethics, unity, impact, optimism, and innovation in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • A commitment to promoting and working in an inclusive and diverse environment with a variety of colleagues and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Excel a plus.
