Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Tow Motor Operator to support production operations. This role is responsible for transporting materials, supplying extruders with the correct raw materials, and assisting with material handling tasks including breaking down bulk packaging. The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, organized, and willing to learn the differences between various plastic materials used in production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a tow motor (forklift) safely to move materials throughout the facility
- Supply extruders with the correct raw materials according to production schedules
- Identify and verify plastic materials before loading to ensure accuracy
- Break down and dispose of Gaylord boxes and other bulk packaging materials
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including material storage zones
- Assist in inventory tracking and material staging as needed
- Learn and understand the differences between various types of plastics used in production
- Follow all safety guidelines, company policies, and OSHA regulations
- Communicate effectively with production team members and supervisors
Qualifications:
- Previous tow motor/forklift experience preferred (certification a plus)
- Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn about different plastic materials and processes
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good attendance and reliability
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing/industrial setting
- Exposure to heat, noise, and moving equipment
- Standing, walking, and lifting required throughout shift
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
