We are looking for an experienced full-time Sterile Processing Technician to join our expanding practice at our new facility at Rock Row Medical Campus in Westbrook, ME.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Clean, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays following proper protocols
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including washers/disinfectors, autoclaves, and ultrasonic cleaners
- Monitor sterilization logs, chemical and biological indicators, and ensure regulatory documentation is complete
- Maintain appropriate workflows for instrument processing and storage; ensure all sets are complete and in good condition
- Identify and report damaged or missing instruments or equipment
- Receive, inspect, and stock supplies upon delivery; monitor expiration dates and rotate stock appropriately
- Maintain accurate inventory records and support ongoing inventory audits
- Assist in ordering and restocking materials and supplies to meet par levels
- Coordinate with vendors as needed and report supply discrepancies to management
- Ensure sterile supply storage areas are clean, organized, and compliant with infection control policies
- Assist in picking surgical cases by referencing surgeon preference cards; ensure proper instruments and supplies are available
- Collaborate with OR team to anticipate surgical needs and minimize turnover time.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician - preferred
- Current BLS Certification
- Minimum of (2) years of work experience in sterile processing; ambulatory surgery center experience preferred
- Basic computer skills required
