What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coder position at Plastic Hand Surgical Associates?
Plastic Hand Surgical Associates is a leading reconstructive, hand and cosmetic surgery physician practice. Our day surgery center is fully accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We provide patients with individualized care in a comfortable, private setting.
We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder to join us at our brand-new facility at the Rock Row Medical Campus in Westbrook, ME!
Responsibilities include:
- Reviewing patient encounters to ensure clinical documentation is complete
- Diagnosis and CPT coding
- Coding professional and facility claims
- Ability to apply guidelines, including CPT, NCCI, and LCD/NCD
- Maintains certification through continuing education or other means necessary
The successful candidate will have knowledge of medical billing procedures, CPT, ICD-10, in addition to outstanding communication skills and the ability to work within a team to meet goals.
AAPC or AHIMA Certification required.
