Plant Manager - Plastics Extrusion - Texas

A well-established plastics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a high-volume extrusion manufacturing operation during an important leadership transition. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to shape the future of the facility while working alongside experienced leadership committed to long-term success.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in plastics extrusion manufacturing and enjoys building high-performing teams, improving operational performance, and creating a culture of accountability.
Why This Role Exists
The facility is entering its next phase of growth following a leadership transition. The new Plant Manager will provide overall leadership for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, engineering, and continuous improvement while helping position the plant for long-term operational excellence.
You'll inherit a solid operation while having the autonomy to implement improvements, develop your leadership team, and drive measurable results.
What You'll Own
- Lead all day-to-day plant operations across production, maintenance, quality, and materials.
- Develop and coach supervisors and department leaders while building a culture of accountability.
- Improve safety, quality, productivity, and overall plant performance.
- Drive Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Partner with engineering on equipment reliability, process optimization, and capital projects.
- Oversee production planning to meet customer demand and operational goals.
- Monitor key plant metrics including safety, OEE, scrap, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Maintain a strong presence on the manufacturing floor while collaborating with executive leadership.
- Ownership over scaling a new adjacent plant
What Strong Candidates Look Like
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Previous Plant Manager experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong background in plastics extrusion manufacturing.
- Proven success leading multi-department manufacturing operations.
- Experience developing supervisors and building high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational performance through Lean and continuous improvement.
- Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and plant performance.
- Ability to scale up facilities
