We are seeking a National Sales Manager to drive growth with major retail and multi-location customers. This role requires a proven hunter who has successfully sold directly to big box retailers, mass grocery organizations, and/or multi-location restaurant chains, while also managing business through distribution partners.
This position operates in a 50% direct-to-customer / 50% distribution sales model and is responsible for expanding national accounts, developing new business, and leading a small team.
What You'll Do
- Develop and win new business with big box retailers, mass grocery, and multi-location restaurant chains
- Manage a balanced sales model: 50% direct accounts / 50% distribution channel
- Drive national account strategy and long-term growth initiatives
- Lead, coach, and develop two direct reports
- Build and strengthen distributor relationships to increase market penetration
- Negotiate complex agreements with both end customers and channel partners
- Maintain an active pipeline focused on new account acquisition
- Collaborate cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, and operations
- Own revenue growth and profitability for assigned accounts
- Travel to customer locations, trade events, and partner meetings
Required Experience
- 10 years of sales experience with national account responsibility
- Proven success selling directly TO big box retailers, mass grocery, or multi-location restaurant chains
- Experience working through distribution partners
- Demonstrated hunter mentality with new account wins
- Leadership experience managing sales professionals
- Strong negotiation and strategic selling skills
- Ability to travel approximately 50%

- Retail support products, merchandising, signage, or related solutions
- Experience in specification-driven or standards-based selling environments
- Multi-channel national account management
