Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, power tools, hand tools, and farm machinery to perform chemical applications across the golf course.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers following strict pesticide management and integrated pest management protocols to control pests and promote healthy turfgrass.
- Use ladders and other equipment to access hard-to-reach areas while adhering to ladder safety procedures and confined space entry safety procedures.
- Handle chemical agents with precision, including mixing, loading, and applying chemicals while following all safety protocol adherence guidelines such as respiratory protection and chemical handling procedures.
- Conduct pest control activities targeting insects, weeds, and other pests using appropriate pest control chemical handling techniques.
- Maintain detailed records of chemical applications, equipment maintenance, safety inspections, and pest management activities.
- Collaborate with course management staff to schedule spray treatments during optimal times for turf health and golfer safety.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations related to outdoor work environments, pesticide application knowledge, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Prior outdoor work experience in lawn care, farming, landscaping, agriculture or similar fields demonstrating familiarity with outdoor environments.
- Mechanical knowledge of farm machinery, power tools, hand tools, and equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pesticide management practices including pesticide application knowledge and pest control chemical handling is essential.
- Familiarity with ladder use, ladder safety procedures, confined space entry safety procedures, and safety protocol adherence is required.
- Experience with chemical agent handling including proper storage, mixing, application techniques, and respiratory protection measures.
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and course visitors when necessary.
- Ability to operate company vehicles safely while maintaining a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of entomology (study of insects) can be beneficial for pest identification and control strategies.
- Physical ability to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions while using hand tools or farm machinery efficiently.
