Director of Recruiting -- Planning Alliance
Planning Alliance is seeking a highly motivated, relationship-driven Director of Recruiting to join our leadership team in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey. This is a newly carved-out, high-impact role focused on building and scaling our financial advisor platform through strategic, warm-market recruiting.
Role Overview
The Director of Recruiting will be responsible for sourcing, attracting, and hiring new and experienced financial advisors. This is an in-person position, five days per week, working closely with senior leadership to expand Planning Alliance’s footprint and advisor force.
Location & Schedule
• Location: Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey
• Schedule: In-person, five days per week
Key Responsibilities
• Recruit, interview, and hire new and experienced financial advisors
• Achieve a target of eight (8) advisor placements per year
• Build and maintain a warm sourcing pipeline through community outreach, referrals, and networking
• Develop long-term relationships with prospective advisors and industry professionals
• Partner with leadership to refine recruiting strategy, messaging, and positioning
• Represent Planning Alliance at industry, community, and networking events
• Manage candidates through the full recruiting lifecycle, from initial contact to onboarding
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is relationship-oriented, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a growth-focused environment. Typical backgrounds may include:
• Financial services or insurance industry experience
• Former or current financial advisors, including those seeking a transition from production
• Professionals from mutual insurance carriers or advisor development platforms
• High-performing recruiters from other industries with strong relationship-building skills
Previous recruiting experience is not required. Candidates with exceptional interpersonal skills, credibility, and the ability to build trust are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation & Growth
• Base salary range: $75,000 – $100,000, depending on experience
