Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually
Hours: 35 hour work week, Exempt
Schedule: Full-Time
Position Requirements: 3-5 years' of fundraising experience & bachelor's degree; CFRE Preferred

JOB SUMMARY

Fundraiser to develop pipeline, solicit and secure gifts in the mid-level range ($250-$5,000) to grow donor base for major and principal gifts. Must have demonstrated ability and 3-5 years closing philanthropic gifts. Supports the CDO and Director of Philanthropy around weekly gift report and working to identify prospects. Will have a portfolio to manage in Raiser’s Edge. This positive will make monthly calls to lybunt donors to secure and renew gifts and work to develop a pipeline of donors to be moved into major gifts.  Candidates should be able to be in Northern NJ and some travel around the entire state of NJ as needed.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Individual Giving Officer performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:

 

1.     Works in collaboration with development team to obtain and organize detailed prospect and donor personal information and giving history.

2.     Daily use of CRM Raiser’s Edge

3.     Raise and secure funds from donors/be able to close gifts in mid-level range. Demonstrated ability to close gifts to secure resources for the affiliate.

4.     Retain donors to increase retention rates.

5.     Maintain a portfolio of active donors.

6.     Weekly gift calls/follow up MOVES management to secure funds for the affiliate

7.     Maintains and updates donor records to reflect accurate information and maintains security.

8.     Manages prospects and donors activity (mailings, phone calls, visits) in Raiser’s Edge.

9.     Work with Prospect Researcher to identify new prospects and those moving into upgrade.

11.  Travels throughout the Affiliate’s service area as required.

12.  Performs other duties as assigned in support of mission and as required to ensure delivery of consistent high quality services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education:  Bachelor’s degree required.  A CFRE certification is preferred; work experience may substitute the degree/certification requirement.

 

Minimum Work Experience:  Minimum of three (3) - five (5) years’ experience in a Development/Foundation office using donor database technology, effectively communicating with community donors and soliciting and closing gifts.

 

Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation to travel throughout the service area.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively 1:1 with co-workers, internal and external customers, and outside contractors and vendors.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING SKILLS
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Physical Demands/Motor Coordination
Requires hand-eye coordination; finger dexterity, and a combination of sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, balancing, kneeling, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 15 pounds). Must be able to write, type, use telephone and computer systems, and other office equipment.

 

Work ENVIRONMENT 
Exposure to routine office conditions as well as adverse environmental conditions such as dust, temperature and noise extremes, etc.   May be exposed to infectious or contagious disease.
