Job Title: Director of Quality and Risk Management

Location: 196 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown, NJ, 07960

Base Pay: $90000.00 - $100000.00 / Year

Employee Type: Exempt - FT

The Director of Quality and Risk Management performs a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to the following:


1.  Assist Chief Quality Officer (CQO) in monitoring the agency wide Quality and Risk Management (QRM) calendar.

2.  Monitor health center compliance with all PPFA standards and guidelines, State, Federal and funder agencies’ regulatory requirements.

3.  Assist CQO in preparing for and responding to State, Federal, funder and PPFA surveys and oversee corrective action plans.

4.  Assist CQO in ensuring that all licenses for Ambulatory Care and Laboratories are renewed and upgraded as needed.

5.  Conduct chart audits on all high-risk areas per PPFA MS&G’s; share findings and communicate with health center staff to ensure deficiencies are corrected.

6.  Oversee compliance with State and Federal Laboratory regulations, including patient testing logs, control logs, and spore monitoring. Train and work with staff to ensure accuracy in lab proficiencies.

7.  Review PPFA Medical Standards and Guidelines for implementation, alignment with NJ regulations and applicability to the affiliate. Work with VP of Medical Administration, Chief Medical Officer to help plan and coordinate implementation.

8.  As assigned, oversee compliance with billing and collection practices. Facilitate coding audits to identify risk areas in coding, billing, and documentation accuracy. Arrange training and work with staff to improve identified areas.

10.  Travel throughout the State of New Jersey is required, including travel to health centers, administrative offices, and other affiliate locations as needed.

11.  Participate in the Affiliate’s efforts related to revenue cycle, which includes but are not limited to: coding properly, achieving goals for productivity, meeting or exceeding revenue targets, and expense management as budgeted.

12.  Performs other duties as assigned in support of mission and as required to ensure delivery of consistent high-quality services.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field. Registered Nurse (RN) credential/licensure is strongly preferred. Certification in infection control, strongly preferred.


Minimum Work Experience: Three years’ experience in demonstrated leadership role in quality and/or risk management and/or regulatory compliance. Demonstrated knowledge of NJ State and Federal applicable laws and regulations. Other quantifiable work experience may be acceptable in lieu of this requirement.


Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license. Reliable transportation for required travel throughout the State of New Jersey.


LANGUAGE SKILLS


Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


REASONING SKILLS

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/MOTOR COORDINATION

Requires hand-eye coordination; finger dexterity, and a combination of sitting, standing, climbing, stooping, balancing, kneeling, reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 15 pounds). Must be able to write, type, use telephone and computer systems, and other office equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to routine office conditions as well as adverse environmental conditions such as dust, temperature and noise extremes, etc. May be exposed to infectious or contagious disease.

Summary


  • Under the direction of the Chief Quality Officer CQO), the Director of Quality and Risk Management collaborates to oversee the agency-wide quality and risk management program, working within and across Medical Administration, Administrative departments and the health centers to monitor and evaluate the quality of delivery of patient care services within the agency. The Director assists the Chief Quality Officer in ensuring compliance with Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) standards, regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, PPNCSNJ policies and procedures, and State and Federal regulations. The Director plays a critical role in enhancing patient safety, improving service quality and reducing organizational risk exposure by integrating quality improvement and risk management throughout affiliate systems.
