Job Description:
Plankton Energy is seeking a Junior Project Engineer. This role is responsible for assisting the engineering team in the development of commercial solar projects. The role includes both management skills and technical skills. Day to day work will include running energy models, conducting feasibility site visits, drafting interconnection drawings, managing engineering design of solar projects, and assisting with engineering design. Responsibilities:
· Support the engineering team in solar project design
· Manage engineering design for commercial solar projects with external engineering firms
· Review engineering designs from third party engineering firms
· Conduct feasibility site visits
· Draft interconnection designs for utility applications
· Run energy models for pre-construction and as-built designs using Helioscope
· Review and approve new technology to be used in design for new projects
· Coordinate with construction manager to approve as-built design changes
Requirements:
· BS Degree in Engineering. Electrical, Systems, or Environmental degree preferred
· 1-3 years of work in the solar industry
· Drivers license
· Must have valid work authorization for the US
· Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar
· Familiarity with solar project design
· Familiarity with NEC or IBC
· Excitement for working in the renewable energy industry
· Strong organization tendencies
