Director of Operations
PlanITROI is seeking a results-driven, hands-on Director of Operations with expertise in scaling complex, high-mix operations and building, leading, and growing a team of "A" players to help scale our state-of-the-art ITAD Operations facility in Youngsville, NC.
The Operations environment comprises Receiving, Production, Repair, Quality Control, CKB, Parts, Finished Goods, eCommerce/fulfillment, and Logistics. This role will own end-to-end operational performance from intake through finished goods and shipping.
The Director of Operations must be a leader and coach with experience managing an Operations and Production Team, delivering comprehensive training and guidance. The successful candidate will own the development, implementation, and maintenance of re-manufacturing processes and system-directed workflows to meet and exceed SLAs and production requirements. This role will also ensure the highest level of product quality, operational efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate brings a track record of driving productivity through process standardization, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily leadership and coaching across all operational functions, ensuring alignment to production targets, quality standards, and safety expectations
- Identify and track Operations statistics and metrics, driving KPI's that ensure organizational success.
- Own inventory accuracy, visibility, and flow to meet all internal and client SLAs
- Ensure timely reporting to internal departments on agreed-upon statistics, units received, production repair, untested, aged, awaiting parts, finished goods, etc.
- Ensure timely reporting requested by management or corporate clients
- Development and ongoing management of the Non-SN & SN inventory and warehouse functions
- Direct daily operations, ensuring balanced workflow, resource allocation, and rapid resolution of operational issues
- Partner with Sales and eCommerce to align production output with customer demand and product specifications
- Lead demand planning and parts forecasting to ensure uninterrupted repair and production flow
- Lead Quality Control operations to ensure finished goods meet or exceed PlanITROI standards and client requirements
- Lead repair operations, including triage, functional repair, imaging, and rework processes
- Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events, Lean principles, and strict adherence to 5S standards
- Ensure compliance with R2V3, ISO, NIST, and NAID standards, including documentation, process adherence, and evidence tracking
Requirements & Experience:
- 10 years of progressive operations leadership experience in manufacturing, re-manufacturing, ITAD, or high-volume technology environments
- Must have experience in building, leading, and coaching an Operations & Production Team of at least 100 employees
- Six Sigma/ Lean Manufacturing certification or training preferred
- Must have experience in Production Capacity Planning
- Deep experience maintaining and operating within ISO 9001, ISO 14001, R2V3, NIST, and NAID standards
- Proven experience in formulating and executing innovative strategic plans and initiatives
- Experience in the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher Program is desired
- Experience fine-tuning daily operations, producing an upswing in productivity and a concurrent reduction in costs
- Experience in the implementation of streamlined processes and procedures, fostering heightened efficiency
- Logistics experience including “Pick & Pack” & Shipping. (eCommerce fulfillment is a plus)
- The ability to delegate within control limits and measure results
- Proactive, problem solver and strategic thinker with outstanding written & verbal communication skills
- Must have the ability to be a “hands-on” leader in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel & Outlook
- Proficiency in ERP/WMS is needed
- Project Management skills desired
