Subaru Service Department Representative

DESCRIPTION

As one of Planet's customer service representatives in the service department, you will greet customers who need their vehicles serviced, help them get checked in, answer phones and set up appointments, provide loaner cars to customers (including driving cars around the lot), and pitch in, as needed, to keep the service department running smoothly. You will spend a lot of time working with customers on the phone and in person, and you will collaborate with most of the Planet service team. You'll be on your feet a lot, so you won't get bored and you won't be stuck at a desk all day!

SCHEDULE

The typical schedule is full time, approximately 40 hours, Monday through Friday, Preferred hours are 7:30am to 5pm. We can modify the schedule somewhat to fit your schedule.

EXPERIENCE

Prior automotive or rental agency experience is not required, but is helpful. The more you know about dealerships and vehicles, and the more passion you have for them, the less training you will require. But we will train the right person.

THE RIGHT PERSON

The ideal candidate likes cars, is friendly, eager to learn new things, likes to be busy, has an upbeat attitude about life, can handle the occasional grumpy customer, enjoys the pleasure of delighting customers, is smart, professional, and polished. We are looking for those who see a career in our business, not just a job until something else comes along. You need a reasonable driving record because you will be driving company and customer vehicles around the lot, and occasionally on the roads. If you like providing good customer service, you'll enjoy this job a lot.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

Because we promote almost exclusively from within, this position is the first place we look when we have an opening in the service department with more income and responsibility. Most of our current team, including our service director, started in a similar position and grew along with us.

COMPENSATION

$24 per hour. Generally, there won't be many hours scheduled beyond forty per week, but any hours over forty pay time-and-a-half ($36 per hour). We offer the benefits you would expect of an award-winning workplace, including health insurance, partial 401k matching, etc.
