Location: While this role is primarily remote, we are seeking candidates local to North Carolina who can support periodic in person client meetings at the Durham, NC office.
A global CDMO that provides drug substance, drug product, and analytical services across the entire drug lifecycle is looking to add a Business Development Manager to their team in North Carolina. This is a sales role responsible for identifying and establishing new accounts while maintaining relationships with existing clients. This position reports to the Director of U.S. Operations.

Qualifications / Skills
- Demonstrated success in opportunity development and closing deals, including prospecting, C level presentations, and consultative selling.
- Experience making a business case to senior decision makers responsible for innovation, revenue, and growth.
- Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- 6 or more years of relevant experience in stability storage sales, preferably within a CDMO and/or pharmaceutical industry.
- Minimum of 5 years in senior business development or account management.
- Pharmaceutical, cold chain, supply chain, or B2B sales experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Engage with new accounts across target industries.
- Lead the opportunity management process from initial outreach through signed contract.
- Build, foster, and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Connect with C level and mid management executives at target companies and manage sales cycle activities.
- Implement best practices for generating and maintaining the sales pipeline, providing visibility into the sales forecast, and ensuring appropriate opportunity follow up.
- Track and report progress using the CRM system and associated tools.
- Record accurate and timely information about deal progress, timelines, and contract close dates.
- Use lead generation tools to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Research target companies and industries to identify prospects that meet the ideal customer profile.
- Initiate contact with prospects and secure face to face meetings.
- Represent company at relevant conferences to market the brand, build new connections, and maintain existing relationships.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure events deliver impactful results.
- Collaborate cross functionally to ensure clear communication and a smooth transition from the sales process to execution.
- Adopt global communication practices across company to ensure a unified approach with target companies.
