• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel/Contract Psychiatric RN job)
• Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (16 beds, adult population)
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00-19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 6 weeks (Start: 8/11/2025 – End: 9/22/2025)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Call Requirements: None
• Float Requirements: May float to other hospital departments as needed
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2020 - $2070
  
  

Psychiatric Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Nevada or compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
• "Handle with Care" certification preferred
• Ability to start within 7-10 days of offer acceptance (rapid response assignment)
• Experience working with adult patients with diverse mental health diagnoses
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and commitment to high-quality patient care
• Scrubs required (no specific color)
  
  

Psychiatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care to adult patients with mental health conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, and dual diagnoses
• Monitor and assess patient status, administer medications, and document care using EMAR and Med Host EHR systems
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain patient safety and a therapeutic environment in accordance with facility protocols and behavioral health standards
• Support patients through crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed
• Float to other hospital departments as required to support facility needs
